Void 33

The Abstract

A mind that bears the decibel level equivalent to an active football stadium. A mind that, in that chaotic noise, searches for audible words that actually belongs to it. A mind that begs for just a moments silence to think in clarity. A mind that amasses such a weight of thought that at some point, it achieves silence only from the collapse under its own weight. The mind could maybe learn a thing or two about population control, and purging the weakest link of thoughts from their stolen home in our minds; for if we do nothing, we risk the chance of mental collapse. The question is: how do you kill off what you cannot see and what shrouds itself in the darkness of the subconscious? The lightest and darkest thoughts can occupy the same space. In the void, there is room for it all. A black hole as explained by NASA: “A black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light can not get out. The gravity is so strong because matter has been squeezed into a tiny space. This can happen when a star is dying.”

the practical

Void 33 is a recorded and livestream show lead by interdisciplinary artist whereisspadey. Void 33 introduces sessions of primarily non-linear and linear music creation, but also leads discussion and other fun activities. Void 33 starts with a 30-45 minute segment called "Horizon" which features Scotch creating all different types of musical content. Spadey then moves into the "Tossed in the Void" segment which grants listeners and viewers the ability to call the Void and deliver thoughts that may be troubling to hold onto. This segment is also used to hold general discussion about mostly anything from current events, relationship troubles, to social media disagreements.  The purpose of “Void 33” is to create a space for the assemblage of alternative thinkers and creators to cultivate ideas that can put a positive motion forward in our community, but mostly, it is a space for nearly everyone to simply bare their light with others. Void 33 will broadcast its stream via Twitch and YouTube on various days yet to be determined.
